Bali guide Departure

🛫 Leaving Bali: departure checklist

Documents, a transport buffer, rentals, bills and immigration questions — what to check before heading to the airport.

Run through this before you head to the airport.

  • Passport, visa and any extension documents ready.
  • Check your flight status with the airline and have your boarding pass ready.
  • Allow a much bigger transport buffer than a map suggests: traffic to DPS is unpredictable.
  • Return any scooter or car rental and settle any damage before departure day.
  • Check your room, safe and chargers.
  • Pay any outstanding bills.
  • Check baggage rules. For alcohol, plants, wooden items and cultural objects, confirm your airline and destination country allow them.
  • If you may have overstayed, or have any immigration question, contact Visio or Immigration before departure day. An overstay is handled at the airport, with fines and delays.
  • Keep some cash for last-minute costs.
  • Keep your levy and arrival documents saved in case they are requested.
