Bali is in an active seismic zone and gets heavy rain in certain seasons.
Earthquake
- During shaking, take cover under a sturdy surface, protect your head and neck and hold on. Stay away from windows and things that could fall.
- When it stops, check yourself and others for injuries and follow hotel or venue staff.
Tsunami
- If you are on the coast and feel a strong or long quake, or an official warning is issued, move inland or to higher ground immediately. Don't wait for a second warning.
- Follow evacuation signs and local authorities.
- Current information: BMKG (bmkg.go.id) or local authorities.
Volcanic ash and flights
- Ash can close airports and cancel flights with little notice.
- Check your airline and the airport before heading out.
- If an ash delay affects a visa deadline, contact Visio.
Rainy-season flooding
- Never drive or ride through floodwater: roads flood fast and depth is hard to judge.
- Follow local route advice and delay travel rather than push through.
Conditions change quickly — follow BMKG, local authority and hotel instructions on the day.
